About the Slough Consortium 11+

The Slough Consortium 11+ is the single examination used by all four grammar schools, with shared papers and common eligibility criteria. The test provider is GL Assessment.

Format: two test papers with questions covering a combination of verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English and mathematics. All marking and standardisation is done by the provider, and the eligibility score is 111 on a standardised scale — roughly the top 35% of those sitting.

Your child sits the test once, on 19 September 2026 for 2027 entry, at an examination centre. Results are released in October, before the 31 October application deadline. There are far more eligible children than places, so each school then applies its oversubscription criteria.
