About Mill Hill County High School
Mill Hill County High School is a co-educational, partially selective state academy in Mill Hill, in the London Borough of Barnet, admitting 243 pupils a year. It is not a fully selective grammar school: most places are allocated without a test, chiefly by distance.
To keep a balanced intake and reflect its specialisms, the school reserves a minority of places for aptitude: about 10% for technological aptitude, 10% for musical aptitude and 5% for dance aptitude. Technological aptitude is assessed by a GL Assessment test (verbal and abstract reasoning); music and dance by a test/audition. Most families, though, are admitted on the standard criteria — above all distance from the school.
